George Hunter has 20 years experience
in the design, construction and project management of
transportation projects, which includes nine years managing
the Value Analysis Program for the California Department of
Transportation (Caltrans) and representing California on the
AASHTO Value Engineering Technical Committee.
Mr. Hunter is a registered professional engineer, a
Certified Value Specialist (CVS), and a certified Project Management
Professional (PMP) who has facilitated VE studies and training courses, and
advised foreign government agencies on value management program development.
He has been a project manager, value engineering program manager, value
engineering team leader (VETL) and a training workshop instructor. George
Hunter has organized and directed more than 200 VE studies on construction
projects of which he has personally led approximately 50 throughout the
U.S., Latin America, Western Europe, and Asia.
A graduate of California State University, George
Hunter holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He is a
member of SAVE International, the Project Management Institute, the Hong
Kong Institute of Value Management, and he is a Fellow of the Korea
Institute of Construction Engineering and Management (KICEM). George Hunter
is SAVE International’s Director of Global Affairs for Brazil and liaison to
the KICEM Value Engineering Committee.
